Head Coach Pat Schlecht
Hilliard Davidson Coach Pat Schlecht is a graduate of The Ohio State University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Comprehensive Social Studies. He received his Master's Degree from Ashland University. He currently teaches history and psychology at Hilliard Davidson High School.
Coach Schlecht has a passion for helping student-athletes reach their potential. With over twenty years of coaching experience, Coach Schlecht knows that commitment, hard work, and goal setting are the foundation for reaching your potential. As an athlete, Coach Schlecht competed as a professional triathlete and completed the Ironman Triathlon in Hawaii. This experience is drawn from to help his athletes compete at the highest levels.
Entering his twenty-fifth season as the boys head cross country coach, he has turned the program into one of the strongest in the state of Ohio. His boys and girls 2002 teams were State Champions and he has guided 14 teams to final five finishes. He has also coached Davidson teams to: 6 state Runner Ups, 22 OCC, 26 District and 12 Regional Championships. Last year Davidson finished as OCC, District, and Regional champions. Coach Schlecht is very excited for the 2021 season.

Assistant Coach Shayne Boyd
Shayne started running cross country in high school to get in shape for his primary sport as a high school and college wrestler where he was a State and National Championship qualifier. He loves to challenge his limits and has run multiple marathons with a PR of 2:58:22 and a longest run of 32 miles in 4:35:26. Shayne has almost 15 years of experience coaching middle school and high school. He joined the Hilliard Davidson coaching staff in 2020.
