Pre-season Recap: The Reformation is underway and that means that we must define our self. This process will take time and we have plenty of that. Late October is when things happen so we must work on our perception of what we want. We must be patient and let the adaptations take place. Our schedule is for this team. We have special training blocks in place and our first meet is the Hot Summer Bash. I am very happy with this meet because we are very good and we did not show all of our cards. If a team comes out too hot they can stall when the good teams start to gel and Davidson is a very good team. My take is that we had a very good day and we spent it with each other.
Thoughts: Last year, Davidson was not super at this meet. This year our 2-3 were where our #4 was and our #4 was ahead of our #5 from last year. We have many parts to add and this team is young which plays to our advantage with a positive focused attitude. Also, teams with front runners carry the team in the early meets. Last year we had three but the back half of the team was not as good as this year’s team. I know we are a top ten team in the state but you got to believe and love your teammates. This team is very deep and that depth will bring out the best in the most focused runners in our stable. I think the most enjoyable thing about your team is that it is yours and each of you are writing a novel and you have no idea how the ending will be. This unknown will bring out the best in each of you because what you dream every day will produce a top selling novel at the box office.
