Coaches Update August 31, 2015
Pickerington North Purpose: Davidson had a plan for this meet and our number one objective was to become one with this course. We must remember every inch of real estate and turn your thoughts about Pickerington into positive images. These positive thoughts will come back to move you in the regional championships in late October. This course is awesome and we know to get into position by the woods. We know we must be together through the woods to the mile mark. From mile one to the hill, we will conserve our energy and prepare for the final push. The hill marks the point of total effort for each Davidson runner as they propel themselves to the woods for the final 800. Through the woods we will pass runners as we know how important each point will be. Out of the woods for the final sprint, Davidson runners will fly by the competition as they will secure their place in the state championships from this course.
Davidson did a great job of using this meet as a tool for the future. We ran together, we ran 3 miles of outpace before the meet. We raced together during, and then we did another three miles before our hill workout. The next time we come to Pickerington we will be ready.

Pickerington Recap: We were a little unorganized in our ability to get the Varsity Runners to execute the plan. This takes discipline from a team that is hungry to follow a plan to be the best team we can be. We cannot have people doing their own thing. If we do, we have a split. A split can develop into a fracture and these are the things that destroy talent. Great teams know what is best and why they are doing what they are doing. We must develop a genuine synergy for this team to succeed. Keep looking for ways to become one.
Hot Summer Bash Race Plan: This will be a very competitive meet and we must find a way to run with Coffman and Darby. These two teams are going to be coming after us and they are in our Regional. I know that Adam Hoover has to be aggressive and run with Graf of Coffman. Chris Egolf needs to run like he practices and keep an eye on Adam. Patrick Keck is back with a strong Matt Rose. Your aggressive running will be needed. Andrew Tighe is the glue for this team. A real strong fight for Tighe will put this team in the top. Andrew Taylor can be a major player if he is ready to be strong. As for Scott Earley, Max LeClair, Ian Cook and Jack Altman, I am not sure what race to put you in yet. We will see how this week develops.
What I See: Wagner and Reynolds should take the lead with Alford, DC st I #2, Bons, St I #3, Graf, DC and A Hoover following. The next group should have two Pick Central runners, two Darby runners, Lancaster #1 with C Egolf, Rose and Keck. The pace will be hot so we must be strong. If Tighe is out fast ahead of the Darby runners and Coffman runners, We will have a great race. Davidson needs to be strong for 5000 meters. I do not know where the Trinity runners will be, but they will be tight around Rose. Go Davidson.
